  • When was Borussia Dortmund founded: Ballspielverein Borussia 09 e.V. Dortmund was founded in 1909 in the city of Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia. The founders were 18 football players from the city, who were unhappy with the Catholic church-sponsored Trinity Youth team.
